Antique Horse Drawn Farm Wagon is in excellent shape and is a wonderful glimpse into history.
This wagon belonged to my father's uncles, who were born in the mid to late 1800s. It has been stored in the family barn for at least fifty years. There are no makers marks or names painted on the wagon, and it is possible that it is home made. The wood is in great condition and is not dry rotted. The box measures 3' wide by 10' long. The tail gate goes up and down with no problems.
The axles are wooden beams and the hubs and metal wheels turn with no squeaks. The wheel diameter is 27" front and 36" back. The hitch is an early swivel type, with no flat plate fifth wheel but some swivel in the tongue. The seat and springs are still attached, but the seat has no back.
Like many horse drawn implements, the tongue may have been shortened to pull with a tractor or fore cart. This wagon could be pulled by either full sized or cross bred drafts.
Please call or text for more information. There are additional pictures on the Mansfield, Ohio craiglist.
The wagon could be hitched as it stands today. With a little tlc, it would be a show stopper.
